Quakes Baseball Academy offers local area baseball players the opportunity to be part of an elite baseball program. We have tryouts throughout the year. Currently we have 12U (we go to Cooperstown in July each year), 13U, 14U, 15U/16U and 17U/18U teams. We also have tournament teams separate from our local travel teams. These tournament teams participate in tournaments in Arizona, both USA Baseball Championships (previously known as Junior Olympics), Fall Classics as well as Perfect Game Showcases.
At Quakes, we strive to make sure that each player has access to all of the tools and coaching that is needed to continue to grow their skills. Another Quakes goal is to make sure our athletes are aware of all that it takes to excel in their sport and the tools needed to improve targeted skills.
For our local players, along with scheduled practices, we have conditioning Monday thru Thursday evenings at the Quakes Baseball Academy facility in Lake Forest. The conditioning program consists of weight training, arm training and recovery, Yoga, core conditioning, Driveline and TBR (Texas Basedball Ranch), Vertimax® speed training and more.
Our coaches work with the players on hitting and pitching mechanics, as well as throwing recovery and other drills specific to each players’ needs.
Year round the youth teams have field practice and a running and agility program. We believe running should be done as many days as possible. With the program they will specifically train in running after field practice, one day per week. This training is done with “bullet belts” and harnesses in order to help their explosive first step so they can become better and faster athletes.
Hitting practice is done at the Quakes facility in Lake Forest. The players are encouraged to attend the open hitting sessions as often as their time permits, we are open so they can be there however often it fits their schedule. This will give them the repetition they need to improve on their swing mechanics.
